Is a former fishing village that is very popular for both Spanish and foreign holidaymakers. The city is preserved in the old style and lies close to the beach. Over the past 10 years luxurious villas have been built on the surrounding hillsides and it provides a wonderful contrast to the old town which still has its genuine Spanish atmosphere. Javeas main beach is shaped like a horseshoe of fine white sand, framed by the many bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. It is lovely for families with children as it slopes gently down into the shallow sea.
